Hello!

Welcome to my creative outlet! I'm so glad you're here.

I'm Sydney, a third-year medical student at the University of Auckland here in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Medicine is a challenging but rewarding degree, and I look forward to having you along for all of its ups and downs. 

​

I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a doctor. I would help my dad tie surgical knots, always had tweezers at the ready for friends' splinters, and spent much of my teenhood religiously watching Grey's Anatomy. So, here I am. It's somewhat of a roundabout way that I found myself in medical school, and I encourage you to read my first post if you're interested in the whole story. If you aren't, well I hope you read it anyway.

 

I hope with this blog I can provide a candid and authentic account of what it's like to be in medical school, and that whether you're trying to get into med school yourself, you're in the years above or below me, or you are just interested to know what it's like, you stick around, it's gonna be a long journey.
